Has anyone heard for sure if this set will be released along with the '09 season in Jan? When do they normally make the reissue sets available? And how do you vote for what may be reissued next?

I don't know how you vote I presume it was on their website or another site like ours. I believe '77 is still scheduled to come out with 2009, typically they keep those schedules very well.
There is a poll going on at their website to measure interest in the five years they have posted.

I can't find the poll either but I know that I voted for 1949. There probably were fewer than 100 votes cast but I know I voted for 1949 because of the great pennant races. As far as 1977 all they have to do is convert the advanced stats into the super-advanced format. This is probably the easiest season they could do and that might be caused by the Negro League project. I don't forsee any change in seasons or substantial delivery delays.
There's a lot more than just converting the stats.
With the added players, and reformating to include things like ballpark hits/homers and clutch hitting, the changes in gb (A) on the pitchers' cards and gb (C) on the hitters' cards.
It's true, though, that much of the data is already in place.
